1. ACM 1st Residency show @ Chain Reaction - 2/11/10

Last Thursday (02/11/10) Chain Reaction hosted its first residency with A Cursive Memory. What is a residency? A lot of the 21+ venues host residencies, which means that a certain band plays there a specific day of the week all month long, great right?  Chain Reaction has never done this before now, and the first week was very well received.

One of the openers of the evening was Austin Gibbs from Phoenix, Arizona. It was just him and his guitar. The crowd received him very well, laughing at things he wouldsay, singing along with him and clapping at the end of songs. With songs like February, Austin Gibbs is proving he will leave his mark on the music scene. Don’t be surprised if you hear more about him in the future, he is full of talent, heart and personality.

This Century is no stranger to Chain Reaction already having played there many times before. Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, the quartet has already started to create some major hype about themselves. Their set opened with “Battling With A Heavy Heart,” a song you can’t help but dance to, which was included in one of their newer released EP, To Love and Back. The fans were definitely there to have a good time and that was what This Century was all about, having a good time. Their songs are fun, catchy, and good. You will surely have them stuck in your head.  They debuted a new song, “Money Honey” that is part of their promotional campaign, 16, where you will be able to download free songs from them.

A Cursive Memory has been M.I.A. for some time now and it was due to the fact they were writing and recording their new record! A Cursive Memory fans were definitely in for a treat last Thursday night because they debuted a lot of the new songs they’ve written for the new record. Starting with “Summer Soul,” a very melodic, pop song that has a summer vibe, hence the title “Summer Soul.” They slowed the set down with “Lions” and played some more new songs like “The Year” and “Ciao Bella.” The fans were definitely responding to the new material very well. ACM also played fan favorites “Perfect Company” and “Everything” off their debut album Changes. They then closed their set with new single, “Painting The Roses Red,” which was released on Myspace a week before the show!

If you still are debating whether to make the drive for one of the last three ACM residency shows, please do, you will not be disappointed! Remember, the shows are Thursday nights for the rest of February.
